Thank you for your interest in the Katherine Michiels School Infant/Toddler Program, Preschool, and Open Mind Elementary Program. The Elementary, After School, Enrichment, Summer Camp, and Y.U.M. Chefs Programs are owned and operated by Open Mind: A Project for the Development and Education of Children, a Not for Profit Corporation DBA Katherine Michiels School. The Infant/Toddler and Preschool Programs are a licensed component, owned and operated by Katherine Michiels School, Inc., a private corporation. We invite you to visit us to find out more about our progressive, Reggio Emilia-influenced style of education.

Open Houses are for Adults only. Babies in a front-pack carrier are ok, but please make other arrangements for toddlers, preschoolers, and elementary-aged students. KMS is a shoe-free building, please be prepared to remove your shoes before entering. A program visit is the second step in the admissions process and will be an opportunity for your child(ren) to visit KMS.

All KMS programs: Infant/Toddler, Preschool, and Elementary will be open with a teacher in each area to discuss and answer any questions you may have. ADULTS ONLY.

Completed applications will not be submitted to KMS without payment. After completion, Select submit application and then please proceed to cart for payment.

KMS Financial Aid is available and is based on the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) which is a service of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS). Email kmsoffice@openmindsf.org for more information.

Applications will remain active until we are able to accept your child. Please let us know at any time if you would like to make your application inactive. Email updates regarding an active application are welcome. If an unexpected opening arises, we will turn to the application pool and schedule program visits. The annual specific acceptance notification dates follow the Independent Schools of the Bay Area (ISSFBA) recommendation.
